Jean Benson lived in Amarillo for 54 years. She was a member and officer in the High Plains Poetry Society. She was a member of the Washington Avenue Christian Church and the Benevolence Society.
Jean's husband, Harry Benson, died March 27, 1993.
Family includes five daughters; Lou Hughes and Pegi Lovett of Amarillo, Texas; Linda Kelly of Beaverton, Oregon; Nancy Tinkle of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Patti Kiernan of Wilsonville, Oregon; a son, Don Benson of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00pm at Washington Avenue Christian Church in Amarillo, Texas. Jean was buried in Washburn at 3:30 p.m.
