Obituary
C H Briggs, 83, one of the oldest pioneer of Taylor County, died on the Briggs farm, six miles south west of Abilene, On Thursday. Funeral services afternoon from the First Baptist Church.
Mr. Briggs was born 20 Sept 1841 in Salem, Alabama. He came to Texas after the close of the Civil War, making his home at San Marcos. He moved to Taylor County in March, 1883, settling on the farm near this city.
He was married to Miss Alice Blackmore and is the father of five Children, three of which survive him. They are Floyd and R B of
Abilene and T A Briggs of Tucson, Arizona.
The following were the pall bearers selected for the funeral Friday afternoon: J L Andrews, Pink Wooten, J H Henslee, Tom St John, Clyde Blands and Young Buchannan
