Ruben Flores, 53, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2007.

A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope. Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Bush officiating. Burial, with military honors, ill follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home.

Mr. Flores was born September 22, 1953, in Seymour, Texas. He was raised in Munday, Texas and moved to Abilene at the age of 12. Mr. Flores joined the United States Marine Corps in 1972, and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He was employed by Crown Cork and Seal for over 15 years.

He is survived by: his wife, Maria Flores; his son, Gabriel Flores; two daughters, Olivia Monica Flores and Veronica Ortegon, all of Abilene; a daughter-in-law, Kellie Flores; two sisters, Anita Herrera and Rayes Flores, both of Abilene; five grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his mother, Angelita (Hela) Flores; his father, Eliseo (Cheo) Flores; two brothers, Eliseo Jr. (Chuco) Flores and Roberto Flores.

You will always be in our hearts Ruben. You were such an incredible man, and an inspiration to us all. Semper Fi (Always Faithful).
