Bobby Lynn Lane, Sr., 71, of Cisco passed away November 14, 2010, in Abilene.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church. Reverend Zach Tunnell, assisted by Reverend Louis Brewer, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Eula Cemetery, Eula, TX under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home of Cisco. Visitation will be Tuesday 5:00~7:00 PM in the Kimbrough Funeral Chapel.
Bobby Lane was born May 12, 1939, to Roy Louis Lane, Sr. and Ernestine (Seal) Lane in Rising Star, Texas. He attended school in Eastland. After serving in the US Marine Corp, he worked as a Retail Grocery Store Manager in several cities.
He and Freda Janell Burleson were married December 23, 1961, in Abilene. They have three sons and one daughter. It was important to him that his children be raised in a Christian home. Bobby was ordained as a deacon in May 1976. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cisco. Most important in his life were his faith in God, his family and football.
Survivors are his wife, Jan, of Cisco; three sons: Bobby Wayne, Jr., of Cisco, Randy C. Lane of Clyde, James Lane and wife, Shawn, of Claude; daughter, RaDonna Jan Burleson & husband, Chris, of Cisco; brother, Truman Lane & wife, Sue, of Gainsville; sisters: Margie Sutton of Abilene, Wanda Goble & husband, James, of Cross Plains, Ernie Mae Bint of Olney & Bonnie Whitaker & husband, Dale, of Anson. Ten grandchildren also survive.Published in Abilene Reporter-News on November 16, 2010.
