Born in New York, died in Lipscomb, Texas

Lawrence Hubschen, known as "Uncle", came to Lipscomb County along with his friend Andrew Hippold from New York. They worked for Mr. John W. Douglas on his ranch and lived with the family in their big two-storied home for many years. "Uncle" passed away in 1938. Andrew died of rabies after being bitten by a rabid skunk in 1953. The friends are buried side by side in the Lipscomb Cemetery.
