"MRS. JOSIE MURPHY IS BURIED HERE SAT. AFTERNOON

Funeral services were held in the Fielder-Baker chapel Saturday (May 24, 1941) afternoon for Mrs. Emmett Murphy, aged 49, who died Friday (May 23, 1941) evening about 8 o’clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. Poland Burns after a few months illness.

Mrs. Murphy was a resident of Farmersville all her life having been born here May 28, 1891, the daughter of Jeff D. and Sarah Gill Killian. She was a member of the Baptist church.

She is survived by her husband, Emmett Murphy, three daughters, Mrs. Poland
Burns, Nadine and Billy Murphy all of Farmersville; five sons, Charles and Richard Murphy of Leonard; Leon Murphy (Audie Leon Murphy) of Greenville; Eugene and Joe Preston
Murphy of Farmersville.

The services were conducted by Rev. Matthew Muller, pastor of the First Baptist
Church. Interment was made in the Aleo Cemetery in charge of the Fielder-Baker Funeral Home."
