Cross Plains, TX. - Donald Wayne Beeler, age 78, passed away January 21, 2013 in Abilene, TX at Abilene Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cross Plains on Friday, January 25th with Pastor Ronnie B. White officiating assisted by Burlie Taylor; burial will follow in the Cross Plains Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 24th at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Cross Plains from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
He was born on May 8, 1934 to Claude Ezra and Oleta (Swafford) Beeler in Cross Plains. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army. He married Polly Helms in Odessa in 1959. He worked in the oil fields and then for Goodyear Chemical as a tire maker.
Survivors include his wife, Polly Beeler of Cross Plains; daughter, Donna Jordan of Abilene and fiance;, Danny Osborne of Boerne; son, Scott Beeler of Cross Plains; brothers, Kennith Ray Beeler of Cross Plains, Dennis Gerald Beeler of TN; five grandchildren, Natalie Beeler, Ryan Beeler and Austin Beeler of Midland, Brandon Jordan and Mandi Jordan of Lubbock and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Claudie.
