Obituary
Funeral services for Remijio Garcia, Sr. age 75 of Seminole, Texas will be held Monday, November 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Primera Iglesia Bautista with Pastor Jonathan Soliz officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Memorial Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home. The church will allow a limited number of attendees inside for the funeral service, and it is suggested that a mask be worn and social distancing practiced, in keeping with CDC guidelines.
Mr. Garcia was born in Brownfield, Texas on June 3, 1945 to Margarita (Rodriguez) and Sebevro Garcia. He married Guadalupe Carrillo in Rocky Ford, Colorado on September 4, 1965. He was a Baptist and worked as a farm laborer. Remijio was a deacon for thirty-five years and loved to read the bible, preach and tell people about the Lord. He also enjoyed fishing. He was a loving and faithful husband, father, and grandfather. His grandchildren were the stars in his crown.
Remijio Garcia, Sr. passed away at Seminole Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe Garcia of Seminole, Texas; three sons, Jose Garcia and wife Krystal of Lubbock, Texas, Remijio Garcia, Jr. and wife Judith of Haskell, Texas, and James Garcia of Seminole, Texas; three daughters, Mary Helen Rios and husband Gabriel of Lubbock, Texas, Ruby Villarreal and husband Ruben, and Guadalupe Sarli and husband Bobby, both of Seminole, Texas; four brothers, Joseph Garcia of Kansas, Severo Garcia, Jr. of Lubbock, Texas, Luis Garcia of Kansas, and Rudy Garcia of Colorado; six sisters, Paula Garate of Kansas, Rosa Garcia of Kansas, Carmen Martin of Colorado, Ofelia Bentencourt of Kansas, Margaret Bentencourt of Kansas and Rosa Linda Whisnant of Kansas; 23 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
