Funeral services for Doris Helen Williams, 56, of Teague, were held Friday, June 22, 2001, in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel at the Union Cemetery Chapel in Freestone. Interment followed at Union Cemetery.
Officiating was Bro. Jack Comer.
Mrs. Williams was born on January 4, 1945, in Magnolia, AR, and died on Wednesday, June 20th, at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her mother, Mary Helen Broom of Minden, LA; two brothers, Robert Broom of Gilmer, and Bill Broom of Houston; two sisters, Ester Kennedy of Minden, LA, and Sally Vekios of Dayton; three daughters, Mattie Rodgers of Fairfield, Beatrice Brinkley of Houston, and Valerie Williams of Teague; two sons, Douglas McArthur Calhoun of Baytown, and Greg Calhoun of Ladson, SC; and 14 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Viola Williams; and son, John Oren Williams.
Ricks Funeral Home in Teague was in charge of the arrangements.
