*Obituary

William Dale Sartor, 87, of Texas City, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at Mainland Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, January 22, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock. Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m., Thursday, January 21, at the funeral home.

Mr. Sartor was born May 23, 1922 in Oil City, Louisiana. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. During World War II, he flew with the Eighth Air Force Battalion in England, flying 31 missions over France and Germany on the B-17 Mary Alice. Dale was also a retired member of Pipefitters Local 211 for over 65 years. During his years as a pipefitter, he spent time working overseas in such places as The Virgin Islands, Venezuela, Trinidad, Barbados, and South Africa, to name a few.

He was a sports enthusiast who also enjoyed gardening. At 87 years of age, he still kept fit by working out at the Lowry Center up to 6 days a week. He dearly loved his family.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Wynell Sartor; children: Steve Sartor and wife Hope, Mike Sartor and wife Kathy, Deborah Plaisance and husband Mundi Fernandez, Sharon Kocurek and husband Dr. Terry Kocurek; grandchildren: Natalie Thompson, Stephanie Rives, Derrick Morris and wife Joanne, Brandon Morris, Chase, Tory, and Colton Kocurek; great-grandchildren: Justin Sartor, Dakota Rives, Travis Thompson, Lauren Thompson, Ava Morris, and Logan Morris.

Pallbearers are Mundi Fernandez, Dr. Terry Kocurek, Derrick Morris, Brandon Morris, Justin Sartor, and Gary Hood
