1927 - 2012
*Obituary
Harry was born March 9, 1927 in New Orleans, La., and passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, August 21, 2012.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, the love of his life for 67 years; children, Gwen Megale (Mike) and Robert Morter (Vicki); grandchildren, Harry Megale (Kinshara), Robert Megale (Sarah), Sean Morter and Colin Morter; great-granddaughter, Alexa; numerous nieces and nephews; special "watch your six" buddy Craig Lauck, devoted friend Alice Whiteman and dear friend Father John Kellick, who provided the words of comfort.
He was assistant brew master at Falstaff Brewery from 1954 until it closed operations in Galveston, whereupon he began a new career at American Indemnity until his retirement.
Harry was an avid sportsman, talented craftsman and expert marksman. He lived his life with character, quiet dignity and devotion to his family. Per his wishes, a private celebration of his life was held at Grace Memorial Park on Thursday, August 23, 2012.
The family would like to thank Dr. Keniche Fujise, Shelly Doss PA, Oneida, Sheila and Nicole who were our family at the Heart Specialties Clinic. Thanks also to Dr. Miguel Valderrabano at Methodist Hospital.
In addition, special thanks to Vanessa Emami with Peaceful Tranquility Hospice and Dr. Bagi Jana whose wisdom, support and advice brought us through this difficult time.
Psalm 23.6...surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
