Funeral services for David Roy Holland, 13-year-old Borger youth who died Saturday morning in a clubhouse fire near his home, were to be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Gateway Baptist Church here.
Officiating will be the Rev. Virgil Jones of Floydada, assisted by the Rev. Gordon Parker, pastor of the local church.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery under direction of Simpson Funeral Home.
The youth died when flames swept a wooden structure he and a companion, Monty Price, were playing in. Young Price escaped the blaze with burns of the hands; he was not hospitalized.
Young Holland is survived by the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy T. Holland, 101 Cherokee; two brothers, Roger, 11, and Allen, 9; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Ollie Murphy; and paternal grandmother, Mrs. John Holland of Borger.
Casketbearers are Jack Lawson, H.L. Kuhrt, Bill Shipley, T.N. Ferguson, John Rockhold, Wayne Hooks.
Honorary casketbearers are Phillips Junior High School seventh grade students.
