Shelby Ray McHone
December 18, 1950 - September 26, 2018

Shelby Ray McHone passed away in his home, Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm September 29, 2018 at Highland Park Cemetery in Borger, TX under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Shelby was born December 18, 1950 in Borger to Kenneth and Nina Sue (Pierce) McHone. He joined the Army in 1969. He served a tour in Germany during the Vietnam War, and received two Honorable Discharges. He was a proud American veteran who shared a love for his country and the American dream. He was an active outdoorsman, hunter and sportsman. He was a talented woodworker and built his own home using these skills. He had a fierce love for animals and enjoyed traveling. He was a loving and humble brother of six siblings, as well as a committed caretaker to family members in need.

Shelby is survived by two daughters, Marsha Bell and Amy Merrick, one granddaughter, Mallory Bell, two grandsons, Devon Mizar and Parker Bell, and one great granddaughter, Madyx Bell. His siblings include Ella Gibbs, Jeanna Anette Reed, Ronnie Lee McHone, Darla Keeney, and Neal Robin McHone. He has ten nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews, and one great great nephew.

He is proceeded in death by his brother Allan Wayne McHone, and his parents, Nina Pierce McHone and Jim Ralph McHone.
