Entered service July 16, 1942. Began overseas duty February 1943 in North Africa where he participated in the battles of Tunisia, Naples-Foggis, Rome-Arno, North Apennines; he paid the Supreme Sacrifice in combat on April 28, 1945 in the Po Valley, Italy.
Received EAME Ribbon with one Silver Star, the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal and other ribbons.
