Joe Wayne Bevers, 84, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017, in Artesia, NM. Services will be held at Terry Coun-
ty Memorial Cemetery in Brownfield, Texas, on Monday, October 2, 2017, at 2 p.m. A tribute of Joe's life may be found at andersonbethany.com where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for his family.
On January 7, 1933, Joe was born to Henry Clay Bevers and Mary Mytilda in Brownfield, Texas.
Joe loved to bowl with his friends on the Monday and Tuesday Seniors Bowling Leagues. He also loved to ride his motorcycle and attend the monthly birthday parties held at the Senior Circle on North Main Street.
Webmaster's note: I always referred to Joe as the "Genuine Comeback Kid" after his stroke a number of years ago. He bowled better than he had, he was as sharp witted as he ever was and had a kindness that showed through his smile. I bought my first brand new Suzuki from him in 1998 and persuaded my friend to buy the twin to mine from Joe. I also bowled with him on the Monday and Tuesday Seniors bowling leagues. It was always fun to bowl with Joe. He always claimed that my bowling was a lot better than it actually was which made me very happy. I will miss him and his great smile. -- George Lee
