Funeral services for George Ward, 78, have tentatively been set for 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Simpson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Moore, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Park cemetery under the direction of Simpson's Funeral Home.
Ward, who died Tuesday noon at his home, 711 Madison, is survived by his wife, Sue; two sons, Lawrence of California and George of St. Louis, Missouri; six daughters, Mrs. Jack Moore and Mrs. Gloria Blancett, both of Borger, Mrs. John Black of Gladewater, Mrs. Denver Cardwell of Mississippi, Mrs. Lewis Johnstone of Indiana and Mrs. Don Miller of Detroit, Michigan.
