Funeral services for William Newman Wells, 70, 611 California St. will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the People's Church, Harvey and Jefferson Streets with the Rev. Roy I. Reede of Mesa, Ariz., officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton Mortuary.
Wells died Sunday afternoon at North Plains Hospital. He was born April 7, 1898, in Davis, Okla., and lived in Borger since 1926. He was a member of the Full Gospel Church.
Survivors include his wife, Velvie Faye; one son, Clarence R. of Mesa, Ariz.; one daughter, Mrs. Patricia Joyce Page of Irving; a sister, Mrs. Mattie Stottlemyre of Fritch; two step-brothers, J.W. Immel and Pete Thomas, and a stepmother, Mrs. Dora Wells, all of Borger; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ed Ramsey, E.W. Whitson, C.B. Davidson, K.W. King, J.C. Cole and Monty Montgomery.
