WHEELER - Walter E. Blakeslee, 71, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Wheeler Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Williams, pastor of First Baptist Church of Wheeler, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home.
Mr. Blakeslee was born Jan. 18, 1934, in New Orleans to Hilda and Walter Earl Blakeslee Sr. He married Rosetta Ezell on Nov. 27, 1956, in Lake Charles, La.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Walter James Blakeslee of Groton, Conn., and Kenneth Blakeslee of Chicago; a daughter, Stephanie Umstead of Wheeler; a brother, Richard Blakeslee of Dallas; a sister, Dorothy Blakeslee of New Orleans; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
