ALLISON - Clyde "Red" Dukes, 87, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, in Bridgeport.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Allison School with David Zybach and Garland Zybach officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler.

Mr. Dukes was born Jan. 26, 1919, in Jack County to Dave and Minnie Faye Dukes. Mr. Dukes married Evelyn Hall on Dec. 10, 1939, in Reydon, Okla. She preceded him in death on March 5, 1977.

He married Anna Furter on July 2, 1977, in Paradise. Mr. Dukes was an implement dealer and a farmer. He was a Church of Christ member.

He was also preceded in death by two sons, Jimmie Dukes and Claude Pewitt; a grandson, Johnny Wayne Dukes; and a great-granddaughter, Ashley Terrell.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Dukes of Bridgeport; four daughters, Diana Chatham and husband Tom of Halfmoon Bay, Calif., Adeline Hammer and husband Jack of Panhandle, Sylvia Richardson and husband Joe of Paradise and Cindy Starnes and husband Jim of Destin, Fla.; five sons, Johnnie Dukes and wife Nelda of Fort Worth, Bob Dukes and wife Peggy of Amarillo, Clyde Dukes Jr. and wife Jane of Briscoe, Melvin Pewitt and wife LaNell of Bridgeport and Jim Pewitt and wife Shirley of Paradise; a brother, Jim Dukes; a sister, Minnie Belle Vinson; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
