Aged Corn Valley Man Dies Monday Morning

Andrew J. Peters, 75, died Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.H. Creekmore, in the Corn Valley community after a short illness.

Mr. Peters was born Jan. 8, 1865, at Rudy, Ark., and died Dec. 16, 1940 in Wheeler county, Texas at the age of 75 years, 11 months and eight days.

In 1887 he was married to Nann Killingsworth and to this union were born four children: James Harmon, Della Oneta and Wayne Oscar preceding him in death.

One daughter, Mrs. Easter Belle Creekmore, Mobeetie, 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive him. They are Okladean and Maxine Peters, Seminole, Okla.; Jack Peters, Glendora, Calif.; W.P. Peters, Long Beach, Calif.; Raymond Creekmore, Albany, Ga.; Mrs. Elen Myers and children, Raphael and Adelya, Wheeler; Mrs. C. Harrell, San Antonio, and Thurmon, Wanda and J.W. Creekmore, Mobeetie.

Mrs. Peters passed away two years ago.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Baptist church with Bro. C. Bryan Witt in charge assisted by Dr. C.C. Merritt and Murray Fuquay , pastor of the Baptist church.

The choir sang several songs, accompanied by Mrs. R.H. Forrester at the piano.

Pall bearers were Tommy Vinson, Geo. Kite, T.T. Wallace, R.G. Hunter, S.R. Anglen and Jim Risner.

Interment was made in the Wheeler cemetery, under direction of the Hunt Funeral Home.
