Funeral services for Arthur Vernie Ridgway, 68 years old, who died Friday of a heart attack at his home in Mobeetie, were conducted Sunday. Rev. A.D. Moore, pastor and Rev. O.C. Evans of Morse officiated at the service which was conducted at the Mobeetie Methodist Church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.

Burial under the direction of Kirk-Mason Funeral Home, was in the Wheeler Cemetery.

Born in Ashflat, Ark., October 24, 1882, Mr. Ridgway moved to Kaufman County at the age of seven. He grew to young manhood there, met and married Veda Lou Webb, December 23, 1902. They moved to Mobeetie in 1929. In 1938 they moved to Lockney, where they lived for 14 years before moving back to Mobeetie about a year ago.

Mr. Ridgway joined the Methodist Church in 1916 at Saginan. He served as Sunday School Supt. and Steward in the Briscoe Church several years.

Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Vada Ridgway; his mother, Mrs. Lou Cosby Foreman, Raton; a sister, Mrs. Maggie Coker; two brothers, E.P. Ridgway, Amarillo; Clyte [sic] Ridgway, Pampa; two half sisters, Mrs. Fern Burdette, Corpus Christi; Mrs. Fawn Wiley, Rotan; two half brothers, Dave Foreman, Lubbock and Paul Foreman, Rotan.

Pallbearers were nephews, Bill and Ralph Ridgway, Pampa; Art Ridgway, Sunray; Janoise Ridgway, Mobeetie; Denziel Coker, Roby and John McCarroll, Jr., Arlington.
