Funeral service for Ernest Floyd Trantham, 78, a resident of Golden Spread Nursing Home, Shamrock the past 4 years, who died Monday morning March 9th in Shamrock General Hospital.

Services were held at 11th St. Baptist Chruch [sic] at 2 P.M. Wednesday with Dudley Briston pastor Lela Baptist Church officiating. Serving as pall bearers at final rites were: Oscar B. Luman of Shamrock, Don Smith of Erick, Oklahoma, Johnie Burrell of Twitt, Ben Trout and Hiram Whitener both of Wheeler, Lewis Fields of Dalhart.

Interment was in Wheeler Cemetery under the direction of Richerson Funeral Home.

Mr. Trantham was born November 25, 1893, in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. A resident of the Panhandle Area since 1940 he came to Shamrock four years ago from Wheeler and entered Golden Spread Nursing Home as a patient. He was a retired Chef.

Survivors include, four sons, Floyd of Clovis, New Mexico, Dwayne of San Antonio, Kenneth of Vernal, Utah and Richard of Guymon, Okla., three daughters, Mrs. [sic] Mrs. M.F. Sprowls of Irving, Texas, Mrs. Jack Blackham of El Paso and Miss Sandy Smith of Erick, Okla., 14 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Grayce Davidson and Mrs. Neva Myers both of Wheeler.
