Alice M. Gossett, 85, of Albuquerque, N.M., formerly of Hereford, died Monday in Albuquerque.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Rix Funeral Directors chapel with George Perkins, son-in-law of Mrs. Gossett, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Gossett and her husband, the late Pope Gossett, lived many years in New Mexico where he was sheriff of Colfax County. They also had lived at Fort Union Ranch. After retirement, they moved to Hereford. Mr. Gossett died in 1988. She moved to Albuquerque in 1991. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Hereford and had attended Albuquerque Riverview Fellowship.

Survivors are a daughter, Barbara Perkins of Albuquerque; two sons, Bill Gossett of Grand Junction, Colo., and Clyde Gossett of Friona; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. Friday until time of service.
