Earl Raye Green, of Hereford, Texas passed away on December 27th, 2013.

Burial will be at 10:00 am on Monday, December 30that West Park Cemetery in Hereford, Texas, with a Memorial Service at 11:30 am at First Baptist Church of Hereford, Texas. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E 6th Street.

Born December 27th, 1932, in Loco, Oklahoma to John Hubert Green and Isabelle Colvin Green.

Earl graduated from Duncan Oklahoma High School in 1951 and attended Wentworth Military Academy and later, graduated from Oklahoma A&M (Oklahoma State University) in 1955.

He married Patsy Ann Welty on September 3, 1955 in Duncan, Oklahoma, and was associated with his father and brother's in farming and ranching, served in the U.S. Army as a Captain and later in the National Guard as a major and was as a county agent in Colgate, Oklahoma.

He moved to Hereford in 1969 and both he and his wife were employed by Alpha Cattle Company currently known as Bar-G Feed yard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Rufus and Hubert Green of Duncan, Oklahoma and two sisters, Caroline Flynn and Ruby Rayness of San Diego, California.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy A. Green of Hereford, a daughter Jana Green Trotter and her husband Johnny Trotter of Hereford, one grandson Eddie Trotter of Amarillo, one nephew, John R. Green of Duncan, Oklahoma and three nieces, Marilyn Hendley of Edmond, Oklahoma, Nancee Raynes of San Diego, California and Kaye Hollis of Encinitas, California.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Duncan, Oklahoma, a member of Texas Cattle Feeders Association, Sigma Chi Fraternity and involved in farming, ranching, oil exploration and investments from the early 1960's until 2010.

The family suggests memorials to: Fellowship of Believers Church, 245 N. Kingwood, Hereford, Texas 79045; First Baptist Church of Hereford, 500 N. Main, Hereford, Texas 79045; American Quarter Horse Foundation, P.O. Box 32111, Amarillo, Texas 79120.
