HEREFORD - Ronnie Owens, 61, died Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009.

Celebration of life services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Trinity Fellowship Church in Hereford with the Rev. Wayne Kniffen officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery in Hereford by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home.

Ronnie was born Aug. 18, 1948, in Carnegie, Okla., to Virgil and Lorene Owens. He married Susan Hopson on July 19, 1969, in Dimmitt.

Ronnie was a lifelong farmer in Deaf Smith County and was very devoted to his family. He held a private pilot license, loved to fly and was a member of the Trinity Fellowship Church in Hereford.

He was preceded in death by a brother, V.J. Owens, and a sister, Theo Sherman.

Survivors include his wife, Susan; a son, James Michael Owens of Hereford; two daughters, Carolan Garza and husband Charlie and Ronni Jo Ewing, all of Hereford; a brother, Eldon Owens and wife June of Hereford; a sister, Julie Morris of Hereford; and six grandchildren, Christian Garza, Hunter Garza, Donavin Ewing, Mason Owens, Trenton Owens and Caitlin Owens.

The family suggests memorials be to Make-a-Wish Foundation, 2324 Lakeview Drive, Amarillo, TX 79109; or Children's Miracle Network, 1400 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.
