HEREFORD, May 29 - Funeral arrangements for Leonard Fleming Stayton, 66, will be announced by the Gililland Funeral Home.

Mr. Stayton died at his home, 305 Jowell, at 1:25 p.m. Sunday. He was born Sept. 20, 1896, at Corbin. He was married to Miss Goldie Kamenzind on Aug. 21, 1918, at Altus, Okla.

They moved to Texas in 1929 from Oklahoma and to Deaf Smith County in 1950 from Dimmitt. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War I.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Charles of Hereford and James with the U.S. Army at Tacoma, Wash.; eight daughters, Miss Leona Stayton, Mrs. Doris Turner, Mrs. Wynelle Thursday [sic], Mrs. Ouida Wray and Mrs. Wanda Evans, all of Hereford, Mrs. Lorene Sessions and Mrs. Mary Joe Abernathy, both of Amarillo, and Mrs. Betty Smith of Friona; two sisters, a brother and 19 grandchildren.
