*Obituary
Benjamin Franklin Thomas was born in Lincoln Co., Tenn., March 22, 1841. He married Mary Ann Fox, Dec. 25, 1861. He volunteered his services and served during the Civil War in Co. D. 8th Tenn. Regiment, Donalson's Brigade, Cheatum's Division of Polk's Corps.

Mr. Thomas moved, with his family, to Coryell Co. Texas in 1884. From there he moved to Jones Co. in 1900. His wife died in February, 1907, and since then he has lived with his children.

There were eight children, four of whom have been dead several years. Those now living are: R.A. Thomas of Amarillo, E.W. Thomas of Paducah, Mrs. N.A. McCollum of Waco, and Mrs. J.P. Wood of Hereford.

Rev. Haynes of Canyon, a friend of Mr. Thomas and the family, conducted the funeral services which were held at the residence of J.P. Wood on Tuesday afternoon, March 15. Interment at City Cemetery.
