Funeral services for Jose Zarazua, 79, of Lubbock will be at 10 a. m. Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Ministerios Nueva Vida with Rev. Jessie Cisneros officiating.
Evening service will be on Friday, April 13, 2007 at 7 p. m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Burial will be at City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels. He died on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at University Medical Center. He was born to Juan and Rosa Zarazua on July 16, 1927 in Calvert, Texas. He married Pauline Ortega Zarazua on Feb. 14, 1958 in Bryan, Texas. She preceded him in death during the tornado on May 11, 1970. Mr. Zarazua retired after 30 years of service from the City of Lubbock.
Survivors include: one son, Albert Zarazua; four daughters, Gloria Z. PeÒa, Theresa Zarazua, Josephine Z. Quirino and Rita Zarazua; eight brothers, Felix Zarazua, Thomas Zarazua, Claudio Zarazua, Isidro Zarazua, Valentin Zarazua, Cruz Zarazua, Leonardo Zarazua and Juan Zarazua; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
