Elmer A. Kleman, 83, of Amarillo, Texas. died Friday, Jan. 27, 2006. Prayer services will be at 5 p.m. today in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Mass will be 2 p.m. Monday in the church with Monsignor Joseph Tash officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Umbarger, Texas by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. in Amarillo. Mr. Kleman was born in Nazareth, Texas.. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, where he helped clean up Nagasaki. He married Anna Hollenstein in Umbarger on April 8, 1947. He was a self-employed businessman the majority of his life. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church Men's Club and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Loretta Kleman, and a brother, Harold Kleman. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cindy Denton of Tulia, Texas.; three sons, Patrick Kleman and Chris Kleman, both of Amarillo, and Robert Kleman of Splendora, Texas.; two sisters, Leola Ramaekers of Nazareth, Texas and Agnes Schilling of Dimmitt, Texas; five brothers, Bernard Kleman of Burnet, Texas.; Urban Kleman of Tulia, Texas; LaVern Kleman of Arkansas and Carl Kleman and Alphonse Kleman, both of Nazareth, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
