PANHANDLE - (HC) - Final rites for Floyd Barto Blalock, 67, of 607 Park, are pending with Smith Funeral Home. The pioneer of Panhandle died Saturday in Wilbarger Memorial Hospital in Vernon, following a lingering illness.

Blalock was employed by Texas Highway Department.

Among survivors are his wife, Nola Mae.

PANHANDLE - (HC) - Services for Floyd Barto Blalock, 67, were held at 2 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church here with the Rev. J.L. Bass, pastor, officiating.

Burial followed in Panhandle Cemetery by Smith Funeral Home.

Blalock, a retired farmer, died Saturday in the Wilbarger Hospital in Vernon.

He was born Dec. 30, 1908 in Talco and came to Panhandle from Titus County in 1960.

He was married to Nola Mae Jewett in Red River County in 1932.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Albert of Amarillo; two daughters, Mrs. Beverly Baldwin and Mrs. Etta Logsden, both of Amarillo; six brothers, Manuel, Alvin, Dois, Frank and Casey, all of Mount Pleasant and Roscoe of Philadelphia, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. Tommie Hays, Mrs. Vertie Newman and Mrs. Johnnie Applewhite, all of Mount Pleasant; and two grandchildren.
