John Mahler Jr. was born Jan. 19, 1882 in Yoakum, DeWitt Co., Texas to German immigrant parents Charlotte Wilhemina "Minnie" Abel and John Mahler Sr. He was one of ten surviving children. John Jr. married Susie Mae Bunch (1887-1979) about 1905 in DeWitt Co., Texas and they had two children during their marriage. John Jr. died in Dallas May 22, 1947 and is buried alongside his wife Susie.
