Mrs Askins
Snyder - Mrs William (Alice) Askins, 87, of Snyder, died at
4 a.m. Saturday at Cogdell Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bell-Seale Funeral Home Chapel.
Carl Wilson will officiate.Burial will be in Gail Cemetery.
Born 5 Aug 1883 in Coryell County, she married William H Askins Sept
25, 1907 in Borden County, He died Sept 14, 1968. She had moved to
Borden County in 1905 and had lived in Borden and Scurry couties all
her life.
Survivors include two daughters, Nellie Kelly of Snyder and Thadene
Harless of Kermit; two sons, Elmer of Big Spring and Emmett of
Snyder; two sisters, Dollie Higgins of Petersburg and Jessie De Rusha
of Plainview; a brother and sister-in-law Mr and Mrs Sid Askins of
Burkburnett; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren and 10
great-great-grandchildren.
