This cemetery was formed after what many believed was an Indian raid wiped out James, his wife Margary (Bell), and three of their sons, leaving two boys and one girl alive alive.

At this site are the stones for two Texas Rangers, one of which is for Pvt William A Glass. It is noted in another account of this cemetery that Pvt Glass' family removed his body to the Glass cemetery in Wise Co.
