The Obituary for Joseph Preston Hogan by Beaty Funeral Home
Joseph Preston Hogan,age 80 of Winnsboro, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at his home.
Joseph was born on August 4, 1933 in Mt. Vernon, Texas to the late Joseph Pascal and Ruth Seay Hogan. He grew up in Mt. Vernon until the age of 14 when he moved to Chicago, but he stayed in touch with his Mt. Vernon Class of '51 classmates and he enjoyed their class reunions each year. He graduated from North Park Academy in Chicago. He married 1st Joyce Louise Jacobsen in 1954.In 1959, they moved to Texas, where he worked for Texas Instruments as a computer Engineer.
In 1991, he moved back to East Texas. He married Judy Valentine in 1995. Some of Joe's interest in life were off-road motorcycling with his son, developing software, tracing family genealogy with his daughter, and keeping up with friends and family via the internet. He also enjoyed communicating with people all over the world with his jam radio. He was preceded in death by his son, David Thomas Hogan; father, Pascal Hogan; mother and step-father, Ruth and Fred Peterson.
