Funeral services for Doris Laverne Stewart, age 76 of Watauga, formerly of Mount Vernon, were at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Cypress Baptist Church. Burial was in the Cypress Cemetery.
Mrs. Stewart was born June 27, 1934 in Mount Vernon to Sam and Lessie Ingram. She died Wednesday, July 14. She is survived by six sons, Wayne, Russell, Michael, Steven, Jimmy, and Scott; two daughters, Pam Fenley and Linda Wilson; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a brother, Billy Ingram; and two sisters, Nellie Kladis and Dorothy Varnell.
