Minnie Oscar PARMER STERLING, born 30 July1868, was the 2nd of 6 children born to Felix Oscar PARMER and his wife, Sarah PHIPPS in Greenville, Butler County, Alabama. Her family moved to Pennington, Trinity County, TX when Minnie was about 16 years old,. The following year, in 1885, her dad died, and the family pulled tightly together to help their mom turn their home into a boarding house.
On 24 Oct 1892 Minnie married a local young man, Malcolm Hoyt "Mack" STERLING, who was active in Polk County's sawmill industry. They had four children: Kathleen (1895 b. Machella, TX – d. 1984 Winnsboro, TX - m. James M. McGEE), Edward Reginald (b. 1898 Pennington – d. 1982 Dallas - m. Bonnie Rae McADAMS), Esther Loraine (b. 1906 Carmona, TX – d. 1958 Dallas) and Felix Malcolm (b. 1910 Saron – d. 1920 Rusk) all in Texas.
Minnie's grave marker shows she died in 1947 but her Texas Death Certificate reports she died 9 Feb 1948.
