Rebecca "Becky" Mullens Hightower, age 80 of Winnsboro, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012. She was born on February 22, 1932 to the late Elbert and Lera Park Mullens in Lamar County. Rebecca was a member of the First United Methodist in Winnsboro, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She worked and volunteered with the Central Christian Church's Blessing Box, here in Winnsboro. She was the former manager and cook at Lou's Country Inn, and was renowned for her wonderful buttermilk pies. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dwight Hightower; her daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Hightower Drude; sister, Aileen Layton. She is survived by her three children, daughter, Emily Mann of Lindale; sons, Jeff Hightower of Winnsboro, David Hightower and wife Cindy of Winnsboro; sister, Wilma Jordan of Dallas; grandchildren, Melinda Mann Adams, Melanie Mann, Curt Hightower, Devon Brown, Terry Hightower, Jerry Hightower, Christina Collins, Danyell Cochran, Mary Anne Kiel, Jeff Hightower, Katie Hightower, Jacob Clinton, John Clinton, Elizabeth Clinton; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
