Funeral services for Mr. Sam L. Boswell, 75, of Tyler, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home chapel with Todd Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery under direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home of Henderson.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, at the funeral home.
Mr. Boswell passed away Nov. 23, 2014, at his residence. He was born March 1, 1939, in Mexia to the late George and Elmer Boswell. Sam had worked as a building contractor. He was the one who took care of all of his family, from the smallest to the biggest. He was the glue that held them together.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Paul Boswell; daughter, Christine Boswell; and brother, Roy Boswell.
Survivors include his children, Nita Walker and husband Todd, of Whitesboro, Sam Louis Boswell Jr. and wife Terrie, of Tyler, and Peggy Charles and husband Jim, of Winona; sisters, Nancy Slayton, of Kilgore, Gladys Bell, of Gainesville, Billie Voluntine, of Overton, and June Gage, of Gladewater; 10 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are George Boswell, Sammy Boswell, Tony Boswell, Chase Boswell, Valley Cooper and Phillip McCasland.
