CLYDE -- Elbert Julis "Al" Hardin, 66, of Denton Valley died Sunday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Atkinson officiating. Burial will be in Kendrick Cemetery in Denton Valley.
Mr. Hardin was born in Marietta, Okla., and moved to Denton Valley from Abilene in 1973. He was a brick mason and belonged to the brick mason's union in Lubbock. He was a member of Oak Street Church of Christ in Abilene and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He married Bettie Bowman in 1961 in Cedar Gap.
Survivors include his wife, of Denton Valley; three sons, Roy Lee Hardin of Fort Worth, Michael Wayne Hardin of Abilene and Keith Hardin of Odessa; two daughters, Seretha Wooley of Denton Valley and Charlsie Kay Ash of Buffalo Gap; his stepfather, Bernie Wright of Denton Valley; three brothers, Fred Grice of Marietta, Don Grice of Auburn, Calif., and Roy Grice of Ardmore, Okla.; two sisters, Kathy Callen of Auburn and Karen Lawler of Stillwater, Okla.; and eight grandchildren.
