Services for O.M. Smith, Sr., longtime resident of Megargel were held at the Methodist Church in Seymour.
Mr. Smith lived for many years in Megargel where he served on the school board that built the Megargel school in 1926. He served the schools and chuches at Megargel and Seymour for many years. He was an official in the Methodist Church.
Mr. Smith was a veteran of the Spanish American War. He sold his dairy in 1946 at Seymour and devoted his time to his farm near Megargel.
Survived by his wife; one daughter - Mrs. Clifford Porter of Seymour and one son, O.M. Smith, Jr. of Olney; three grandchidlren; two sisters and one brother.
No military marker.
