McAllen, TX - Ricardo Ochoa, Jr., 87, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday January 6, 2015 at McAllen Medical Center. Born in Mercedes, Texas, Mr. Ochoa is preceded in death by his parents, Ricardo Ochoa, Sr. and Senovia Vela; sister Isabel Garcia and son, Jimmy Ochoa.

He was a veteran serving his country fighting in World War II, The Korean War, and Vietnam War with the U. S. Navy and Air Force. He retired on May 1, 1968 and made his home with his family in McAllen, Texas.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Elena Cantu Ochoa; daughters Yolanda and Sylvia Ochoa; son, David L., (Adriana) Ochoa, sister, Olga Barragan, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who he loved dearly.

Viewing will begin today, Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary being recited at Ceballos Funeral Home of McAllen. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church of McAllen. Burial with full military honors will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.

The Ochoa family entrusted their arrangements and services to Ceballos Funeral Home of McAllen.
