Duane A.`Chub' Ohnstad, 84, passed away Friday, February 3, 2012 in Harlingen Nursing Center.
He was born July 2, 1927 in Fargo, North Dakota. Chub was a life time member of the Operating Engineers Local #965; U.S. Marine Corps, serving during WWII; American Legion and V.F.W.; and the San Benito Elks #1661.
Chub was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Lona Ohnstad.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Evalena; brother, Richard Ohnstad; sisters, Marlys Gagne and Carolyn Heckelman; nephew, Larry Evans; and other nephews and nieces.
As per `Chub's' request, there will be no service.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home and Crematory.
