D Spencer Grant, age 25, enlisted the 9th Oct 1861 in Co B, the 9th Texas Infantry CSA. Enlistment was in Clarksville, Red River Co, Texas. He was listed as a 5th Sgt/Pvt. This is the same outfit his brother John W Grant joined.
