New Boston,Texas-- John Lee Raley, 60, of New Boston, died Monday, March 23, 2009, at his home. Mr. Raley was born October 9, 1948, in Texarkana, Texas. He was retired from Red River Army Depot, a member of Texas Army National Guard, a Christian and a Vietnam War Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Raley of New Boston; two sons and daughters-in-law, Cody and Nicole Raley of Texarkana and Keelan and Desiree Batchelor of New Boston; his mother, Edith Smith of Texarkana; one brother, Bob Raley; one sister, Joyce Marsh; four grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home Chapel with James Boyd Strain officiating. Burial will be in Red Bayou Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 5501 Plaza Drive, Texarkana, TX 75501.
