Oda Mae Smith, age 92, of New Boston, Texas passed away Friday, February 20, 2009 at a local nursing facility. Mrs. Smith was born August 31, 1916 in New Boston, Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Boston and retired. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie L. "Rab" Smith, four sisters, Lois Jones, Eddie Faye Jones, Dell Chisum, Nina Kennedy and one brother, Alton Thompson .

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy L. and Jane Smith of Royse City, Texas and H. Wayne and Lou Ann Smith of Naples, Texas, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Newt and Zona Thompson and Steve and Monet Thompson, both of New Boston, Texas, one sister and brother-in-law, Johnnie and Ernest Hamilton of Kansas City, MO., five grand daughters, Terri Lynn Smith and Traci L. Smith of Naples, Texas, Brenna and Greg Rose of Frisco, Texas, Melisa and Terry Greaves of Rockwell, Texas and Amy and Brian Tillotson of Flower Mound, Texas., seven great grandchildren, Joshua Rose, Jordan Rose, Kyle Greaves, Katie Greaves, Prestyn Tillotson, Dylan Tillotson and Laney Tillotson and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 23, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of New Boston with Rev. Ken Cox officiating. Interment will be in Red Bayou Cemetery, New Boston, Texas under the direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home, New Boston. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M., Sunday, February 22, 2009 at the funeral home.
