Bill Hannon was born May 2, 1937, in Bradford, Pennsylvania, and went home to be with his Lord on July 10, 2015, at age 78.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Hannon and Mary Barry Hannon, and a brother, Charles Hannon.

Bill was an attorney who owned Bill Hannon's Law Office in Atlanta, Texas, from 1972 – 2015. He was admitted to practice in the following courts: Texas Supreme Court and All other Texas Courts (1972); United States District Court – Eastern District of Texas (1975); United States District Court – Western District of Louisiana (1975); United States Court of Appeals – Fifth Circuit Court (1976); Supreme Court of the United States of America (1980); and United States District Court – Southern District of Texas (1993).
Bill Hannon was a member of First United Methodist Church, Atlanta, Agape Friends Sunday School Class, and the following professional memberships: Texas Bar Association; Northeast Texas Bar Association; Appointed Member of Texas Bar Association District 1-B Grievance Committee, July 1, 1989 – 1992; Texas Trial Lawyers Association; American Bar Association; the Association of Trial Lawyers of America; Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and The College of The State Bar of Texas.
His childhood was spent in West Texas, primarily Midland, and he graduated from Midland High School, Class of 1955. Summer jobs held during college years included oil field work (roustabout and roughneck). He graduated from Texas Western College of the University of Texas (now UTEP), El Paso, Texas, received B.B.A. Degree, was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Social Fraternity, Vice President of UTEP Athletic Club; Captain of UTEP football team in Senior Year; 2nd Team All-American, Sigma Alpha Epsilon National Fraternal Football Selection; and Signed Professional Football Contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League, January 4, 1960.
Before he could move up to the NFL, he was drafted by Uncle Sam and entered the U.S. Army for completion of his Active Military obligation. Bill attended the 101st Airborne Division Parachute School, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, completed the course and attended the U.S. Army Artillery and Missile Officer Candidate School, Fort Sill, Oklahoma; served in Korea as Personnel Specialist; released from Active Duty, September, 1963; received Honorable Discharge, September, 1966.
After completing his military service, Bill attended the University of Houston College of Law and South Texas College of Law and is a member of Phi Alpha Delta, Legal Fraternity.
Bill was a man of unimpeachable integrity and his word was his bond. His advice to us was to do all the good you can, enjoy each day to the fullest and make time for laughter. He regretted not being a big fan of technology, especially cell phones and computers, and preferred written letters to emails and texting.
Memorial services to celebrate his life will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the Hanner Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Jacob Smith and Rev. Mike Powell officiating.
