June Darnell's actual name was Junious Franklin Darnell. He was the husband of Bonnie Lee Thomas at the time of his murder. His assailant was tried and found not guilty of the murder with a defense of self defense. Both Junious, his wife and his assailant were know for their marathon drinking of alcohol.
