ARCHER CITY - Cletus Alexander, age 73, of Archer City, Texas, passed away July 1, 2006, at his residence in South Fork, Colo.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2006, at Aulds Funeral Home with Roger Deerinwater, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Archer City, and Andy Graham, pastor of Southside Baptist Church of Olney, officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery in Olney under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Aulds Funeral Home.
Cletus was born March 17, 1933, in Bittercreek Community, Young County, Texas, to Holmes "Blocker" Alexander and Sallie Fay Souther Alexander. He was a 1951 graduate of Olney High School.

He and Geraldine Selph were married March 1, 1953, in Megargel, Texas.
In 1953, he was inducted into the United States Army where he served during the Korean Conflict. In 1955, he became employed by The Texas Company, which later became Texaco, and retired April 1, 1993, after 37 years and nine months of service.
He was a resident of Megargel and Coleman before moving to Archer City in 1958. After retirement, Cletus and Geraldine bought a home in South Fork, Colo., where they went to relax in an area they already knew and loved. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing in Colorado. He was an active member of the Archer City Volunteer Fire Department for more than 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine of the home; one daughter, Pat Bailey of Wichita Falls; one son, Danny Mack Alexander, and wife, Rhonda of Wichita Falls; two brothers, Glen Alexander and wife, Jerry of Wichita Falls, and Alvin Alexander and wife, Cherry of Pampa, Texas; one sister, Donia Woods and husband, Don of Olney; four grandchildren, Kendra Essary, Sgt. James Kuykendall, Erick Lewis and Shelby Alexander; and two great-grandchildren, Austin Davenport and Morgan Essary.
He was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Jack Alexander on August 10, 1961, and two brothers, A.C. "Dago" Alexander and Jack Alexander.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Cavitt, Jim Bob Crowley, Kenneth Culwell, Jim Hughes, Tommy McBroom, Hank Roten, Jeff Scott and Jimmy Sheppard. Honorary pallbearers will be the Archer City volunteer firemen and previous co-workers.
