William Bryon Butler was born November 17, 1896 in Kenedy, Karnes County, Texas, to Sykes C. Butler and Emma Jane Seale. He stood 5ft 10 in tall, had blue eyes, light hair and a light complexion. He was married to Alice Kathryne Rutledge on January 10, 1924. They had one daughter, Lasca, born in 1941 in Texas. William was a Stockman in Karnes County, Texas. He enlisted in the Texas Rangers as a REGULAR RANGER on December 22, 1917 thru March 17, 1919, as a private in Company K. William had three relatives who were also rangers. Ranger Sykes C. Butler, father; Ranger Marvin N. Butler, cousin; Ranger Sidney W. Butler, distant cousin. William Bryan Butler died August 8, 1969, Karnes County, Texas and was buried in the Butler Cemetery in Kenedy.
