David F. Harris, age 93, passed away Friday in Electra hospital.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday from the First United Methodist Church in Electra with Rev. Tom Medley, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Electra and Rev. Miles Graham, officiating. Burial was in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Totten-Day Funeral Home.
Mr. Harris was born April 2, 1902 in Cleburne, Texas and had been a resident of Electra since 1918. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Electra and the Knights of Pythias Lodge. He was a member of the Electra Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years where he served as chaplain. He was the owner of Harris Plumbing in Electra until he retired. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Edna Lorene Braden in December 1968. Mr. Harris and Alice Redin were married June 4, 1922 in Electra, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Harris of Electra, Texas; One son, CD. Harris of San Diego, California; one sister, Vada Sillman of Tyler, Texas; three grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and two great great grandsons._
